The Stabilitrak is a good safety feature; I'm not going to debate that. But, it is still designed to maintain control of the vehicle in the event the driver loses control. And I quote: " Stabilitrak helps keep you in control in sudden maneuvers". Lets not forget, this is a 2 ton + "truck", it should not be driven like sports or F1 racecar to begin with. My beef is with those "Escaladers" that use the feature to slam the new Denali. Any feature that adds to your safety and control should be a gimme not a selling point. Compare looks to looks, power & performance to power & performance; amenities to amenities then tell me which one offers the better value. If you want to drive and Escalade then go right on ahead, I hope the Stabilitrak is worth the extra 2K-3K you've paid. Maybe I'll wait until '02 and get a Denali with standard Stabilitrak! I hope everyone understands that my posts are written all in fun. I respect everyone’s opinion as I hope they do my own. When I started this forum a few months ago I wanted it to be a place to gather information on the little know; upcoming luxury SUV's from GM. So far it has grown into just what I hoped it would, a place for people to express idea and gather information. Thank you all (I am so proud...lol) --Butta |

Butta, I wish that GMC would make one SUV with all of the options available. Then we could get Stabilitrak, auto climate control, permanent 4WD (AWD) with low range.... It seems that we are never able to get it all and have to make compromises. I would like a Denali XL (3/4 ton) with 8.1L, Stabilitrak, Auto Climate Control for both front and rear, Sunroof, Rear Parking Sensors. Don't think it will happen until Model Year 2002 or 2003. It would also be nice to have a factory GPS system available. P.S. - don't want to argue the subject to death but Stabilitrak also kicks in if you go around a corner and hit and unexpected slick spot which causes you to start to loose the rear end. So even a good/thoughtful driver could benefit from technology in these circumstances. Any driver who abuses the road and ignores physics and the law of gravity will easily "outdrive" Stabilitrak hopefully only injuring him/herself. Similar to seeing the idiots in any 4WD in the snow and ice thinking that they are immune to the conditions. |

Thor3 Are you makin' nice with me? Maybe we can get our trucks in matching colors or something. I feel we've really bonded. FYI to all. GMC should update their website with new info on the Denali in about 2 weeks, be sure to check it out. --Butta |

Anybody know if white will be available as a color for the 2001 Denali?? Thanks. |
|

Yes white will be available. Not just old plain white, but Olympic White which is much whiter the white. Write this down. Lars What color is Polo Green? |

The color that my dealer told me would be available are: Pewter-11U Black-41U Polo Green-47U Garnet Red-72U and Summit White-50U We ordered a Pewter with the grey interior and a sunroof. (I think the only other option on the regular Denali is the engine block heater.) The XL, I understand, has the option of second row buckets; which we like for better accessability to the rear seating, but don't want the extra length. The pricing I have heard-not yet confirmed by the dealer-is $46,650 Denali and $48,185 for the XL. If the markup remains the same as last year (invoice at .875 of MSRP), this would make them $40,819 and $42,162 respectively. |

| Has anyone received a production date for 2001 denali xl? | |
|
According to a local dealer (Salt Lake City) who received info from their "satellite", Garnet Red is not available right now (Aug 25th) because GM can't get it to stick to the plyable fender flares. That same day, this dealer received a 2001 color book with every color (interior and exterior) listed by name and code. Polo green looks like... well... medium metallic green! PS. I have read the "2000 Yukons/Tahoes - Any Details?" since last December, and I have not read as much chatter about nothing, ie. "Stabilitrak" in that entire time! To the anti-Caddy guys... If people need whatever reason to justify their purchase, let them! You will know right away if you are arguing a moot point. To the Caddy guys... If you just tell the other guys, "Hey I just want a Cadillac." instead of trying to convince them you are buying it because of this Stabilitrak option, they may just leave you alone... I was given a hard time in other forum from the Suburban/Yukon XL guys for wanting to order a Yukon Denali XL. And I thought the 6.0L engine in a 1/2 ton XL was a great reason to buy the Denali XL. (Ok, that was a long PS) Dave |

The guys in the "2000 Yukons/Tahoes - Any Details?" are too busy figuring out their window problems to care about stabilitrak....also the nerf bars, fender guards, reprogramming remotes, and such...LOL |
