Everyone on this list has provided really great information and really helped me make an informed purchase. I've had my 2000 2wd Yukon for 5 months now. I need to ask your assistance on another issue - I'm considering buying brush guards for my rig. I have a few questions that I'd like to ask peoples' input on: 1) Does anyone know for sure the actual effects of installing brush guards on the operation/effectiveness of air bags? 2) For those folks with 2000 Yuks/Hoes/Burbs/XLs, what brands of brush guards have you bought, and how much have you paid? (I'm interested in black for my Pewter truck - what's the difference between matte finish and other finishes?) 3) How difficult is it to install the different brands you all have bought? Is it something that I can do, or do I need to go to a dealer or pro? 4) What about taillight guards - what products have people gone with for these? I've got cargo doors, so I'm not sure if I can even install taillight guards... do they require drilling? I would really appreciate any input that people who have brush guards on their rigs could provide on each of these questions - and on any other concerns... Currently at the top of my list are the FieldSport Brush Bars at Overlander.com for $449... what are your thoughts? Yes, you are correct about the two different motor numbers. Right side window Regulator #15757401 Left side window Regulator #15757400 BTW if anyone in the Houston area bought their Suburban or Tahoe at Mac Haik Chevy; they will replace the rear window motors in your driveway while you wait. (It takes about 30 minutes)

Based upon the part numbers you gave, you must have either a Suburban or Yukon XL because those are the same part numbers that are listed on the defects page of my web site at http://suv.s5.com Clifford

Don434 - Thanks for the all of your research on this problem and for the information you provided in your post #57 and post #62. I did try to gently press on the mirror glass but did not get the expected rachet action. Removing the glass does not look to be an easy option. Cannot really get a finger or two behind the glass. Perhaps this is one of the things that we must live with. subliminal - Thanks for the tip on use of convex spot mirrors. It may be that this will help the situation.     Sincerely,        fcornay

A piece of cake, a walk through the park, very easy install. You will have to drain some coolant and remove the air intake assembly. Other than that, pretty straight forward. Took me about 30 minutes from start to finish.

I have auto start and it is one of the best things in the world. The only problem is if you start the truck, than decide not to go out, and turn it off with the remote, the radio stays on. So, you have to open a door, then close to deactivate the radio or wait for battery to get low enough so power saver shuts it off. The other option is to turn the radio off before you get out. Not a big deal, but a slight pain in the ass if you run in and out a lot.

Those are the same part numbers that they put in mine awhile back. I was told by the service department that they were the same part number as the originals. So far the second set hasn't failed. Scott

I've got a 2500LT Chev Suburban on order, Onyx Black. I want to do an aftermarket two tone after I got it. The dealer is telling me that is not going to be possible because GM has changed the type of wheel flares they place on some of the colors. It seems that the matte black ones are now a textured surface and are some type of plastic/rubber that can't be painted, or so he says. He says this change came about 60 days ago. I'm told that some colors do come with painted wheel flares from the factory, as opposed to the matte black flares. I looked at some painted ones and they are the smooth plastic. I think he told me that white, gold, charcoal and green all come with factory painted flares on an LT package. I really don't want any of those colors. I want Onyx black and I would like to two tone it. Has anyone painted these new textured black flares? Any comments/ideas welcome. Dan

The head of the paint department at the dealership where I trade has indicated that it is not a good idea to paint the textured items. That is why I ordered smooth handles to be painted for our 2000 Tahoe LS. Orville
