I know that this has been discussed (sort of) already, but I thought I'd bring it back up. In most of the preview for the Fit they mentioned a footwell lighting kit. However post release, all mention has disappeared and the kit doesn't seem to be available. Now when I was initially looking at Civics a little while back I DID see the footwell lighting kit as an available accessory, so I did some digging. At College Hills Honda, they list a "Courtesy Light" for the 2006 Civic Sedan/Coupe/Hybrid. (Part #08E10-SNA-110) Its pretty much what I imagined when I thought of the footwell lighting kit and I think the blue color would match the other light scheme well. Does anyone have any guesses as to whether or not it might fit into the Fit? (Really, no pun... its just so tough!) Has anyone seen the footwell kit in a Jazz accessory list? |

For those who bought the locking gas cap, how did you guys remove the old cap?? Did you guys simply cut the wire connecting the cap and the small door or using other method? Since I want to retain the old cap in case I want to put it back later for any reason, but I found it difficult to take that wire out... help please...

| I know there's been some discussion re: roof racks for the Fit (thanks drknife, johnnyb11, lynivere)... called a local roof rack company and there is nothing set up yet for the Fit. They quoted that they can do a custom Thule rack and mounts for appro $700 Cdn. Seems expensive to me. I will contact Honda Canada to see if there's anything coming out for the Fit. I've also read in this Forum that the max weight capacity for the Fit roof seems to be about 100 lbs. Is this right? Does anyone have any updated info? Like lynivere, I'm not keen to drill holes into my precious Fit. I'm wanting to install roof rack for kayaking. Appreciate any tips... | |

Thule parts needed are: Kit 1312 Footpack 750 & 120 cm load bars (i bought their 761 'square bars' although their 'aero bar' option = Thule 861 bars, will also work) I was quite frustrated trying to purchase a Thule (or any) roof rack for my Honda fit. Our local Honda dealer was useless in this regard. So I bought the aforementioned parts from a Thule Retailer located in the U.K. The Installation instructions that came with the Kit 1312 (contains the clips) said the parts were specifically designed for either the Honda Jazz (U.K. version of Honda Fit) OR Honda Fit. So its weird that Thule in North America has no idea if & when roof rack for Honda Fit will be available. Anyways the rack was easy to install, looks great and now we can carry our bikes or kayaks with ease. the shop in the U.K. I dealt with is: Roof Rack Shop UK 9 Brewster Square Brucefield Industrial Estate Livingston West Lothian EH54 9BJ Tel: 01506 418218 Fax: 01506 418123 www.roofrackshop.com The Roof Rack shop was very helpful processing the order; quickly responded to all my emails etc... total cost for the parts I ordered was about 90 pounds, but then I had to pay about another 90 or so pounds for shipping. whatever... I desperately needed the rack and am quite pleased to finally have one for our honda fit that works with our existing Thule rack attachments (= fork mount bike attachments, kayak ,& skiis).\\hope this helps.
