Replying to: ccaddy (Oct 04, 2008 6:18 am) I bought the armrest based on one of the favorable postings and, although I'm satisfied with the fit, the 4 screws don't really anchor the armrest snugly because they screw into a soft base. I'm thinking of replacing the screws with longer ones but I'm not sure what's further below the surface, whether it's still more soft material. Maybe someone can suggest something better. Also, the posting I relied on said that the rear middle cup holder would still be usable. It's not, because the armrest's bottom fit into the cup holder. The Wood Company armrest was the only one that I have found that will ratchet forward enough for my wife to be able to use it. I have not purchased yet, but was thinking about it. Replying to: madams1 (Oct 07, 2008 6:23 pm) I think it was a local company, not the one in Italy. It was sold on eBay for something like $86 or $89, with free delivery. But the fact remains that the screws are driven into the bottom of the old cup holder which is a bit soft. I'll see if a longer screw will do. I'll you all know.

I have bought 2009 Honda Base AT Model(silver strom) and I'm missing cruise control now. How much would it cost to add it? Who can do it? Want to avoid dealer $$$. I live in northen NJ - any indy who is good on Hondas?   I also want to add Keyless entry and security system - can I do this on my own? Wondering!!!   I like Base model since I'm not into sporty looking cars, I want vanila transportation car. I have 528i BMW for the luxury I need in my life and happy to own both the cars.

Replying to: luvindia (Oct 19, 2008 6:27 am) The ONLY reason I bought a 2008 Fit sports is because the base didn't have cruise control, but it cost me another $1,100 for other options that came with the cruise. I think it's a worthwhile investment, though, rather than buying the base Fit and having someone put a cruise in. I don't think it voids the warranty, but you need to call a dealer for it to make sure. Replying to: kagedude (Apr 23, 2006 7:31 pm) The 2009 Honda Fit has a fold up center armrest on the driver's seat only. It's small and too short IMHO. But there is a full (two person) center armrest as an accessory for $246. It is for auto xmsn only , folds back out of the way and is adjustable front to rear. The dealer said it did not affect warranty and even called a local shop (in Oklahoma) who does some work for them. The shop could install it and charges $500 installed price.

Replying to: wehner (Oct 21, 2008 1:36 pm) actually, i just bought an '09 fit sport manual trans and had the optional armrest installed. i don't think the transmission matter in this case. although, i should cation you, it's a decent upgrade, but it is NOT as large as you'd think it would be. the storage compartment is barely big enough for my garmin gps.   dg

i've had my '09 fit sport manual in storm silver for a couple weeks now and i so love this car. I'm in the process of personalizing it and thought i'd comment on the accessories that i've added so far.   1) center armrest. many people on here are incorrectly stating that the full armrest is not compatible with the manual trans. IT IS COMPATIBLE WITH MANUAL TRANS. it's in my car, so i would know. i like the armrest, but it's much smaller than i thought it would be...barely room for my garmin gps in there.   2) all weather floor mats. these are essential in for ohio winters. they are identical in size/shape to the carpet ones and are of excellent quality.   3) rear cargo cover. i wasn't sure i wanted this, since it requires you to add snaps to the rear seats (they have to actually be screwed into the seats) on the '09 fit. and since it just raises up with the hatch (via cables that you connect to the hatch), you can't put anything tall in back of the car without taking the cover out completely, which i guess is no big deal. all in all, i'm glad i have it bc now i can keep stuff out of view.   4) side window visors. i love the way they look on the car...really adds to the sportiness of the profile. i don't think it's a great design, from an installation point of view, but i'm pretty sure they'll stay in place for many yrs. another high quality accessory from honda.   i'm thinking of adding some of the interior carbon fiber trim pieces, but i'm afraid it'll wind up looking gaudy. also, i'm definitely gonna add some tint to the windows. there's soo much glass on this car that it really heats up the interior. does anyone know anything about window tinting here? i'm thinkin of doin it myself, but i'd sure regret it if i f*#ked it up! also, what's the law say about tint? what's the darkest shade that's legal?   thanks in advance for any and all input!   dg Replies to this message: dhectorg (Nov 07, 2008 10:15 am) zombietom3 (Mar 22, 2009 7:17 am) fitcharlie (Feb 14, 2009 12:38 pm)
